Top Music and Performing Arts Camps in Ottawa
Whether your child is looking to build confidence or needs an activity to unleash some, we recommend signing up for a performing arts camp. It really doesn’t matter if your little ones can sing, dance, or act because we are here to help. Who knows – maybe they are a star in the making!
Stagecraft Children’s Theatre School has one central aim: to enable all children to experience the fun, excitement, and challenge of performing while developing their own talents, strengths, and qualities.
This year’s summer Stage Camps will perform Frozen (Pre-K and Kindergarten), Annie (up to Grade 6), and Legally Blonde Jr (Grade 7 to 18 years).
Mixing learning and fun is what the Shenkman Arts Centre does best. Camps are offered by the resident programming partners at the Centre: Gloucester Pottery School, Ottawa School of Art – Orléans Campus, OYP Theatre School and the City of Ottawa. Professional instructors working in their fields ensure a high standard of excellence.
JCC of Ottawa Summer Camps offer summer programs for all ages and interests. In addition to sports and outdoor camps, a variety of specialty day camps are available for all ages and interests.
Music and performing arts camps include Under the Big Top, Girls on the Go, The Directors Cut, Band Camp, and more.
Held at picturesque Billings Estate, Salamander Theatre offers Ottawa’s only outdoor drama summer camps for youth ages 10 to 18. Emerging performers have the opportunity to act, sing, dance, and work within an ensemble. Both the Shakespeare Camp (July 4-22) and the Musical Performance Camp (August 8-19) culminate in an evening performance for friends and family. Complimentary t-shirt included.
OYOA’s 10-day camps for young string, brass, wind and percussion musicians are led by some of Ottawa’s finest professional musicians and teachers. Daily ensemble playing, group lessons, theory and ear training, for beginner to advanced players, lead up to a concert on the final day.
Sports, crafts and recreation activities balance the music studies.
Children’s Ukrainian Arts day camp for kids aged 6-12 will be held July 18-22. Camp activities include music, dance, visual, culinary, curatorial & textile arts.
Open to children of all cultures.
Camps will end with two public performances, on July 22 & 23.
OVA offers ROCKCAMP for children ages 10 to 15. This is a one week camp from 9am-4pm. Students will rock out and form a band with a special performance at the end on our stage with all the frills. Students must have taken lessons on guitar, bass, keyboard and piano. Voice students are eligible with an interview.
OPUS provides music camps for kids who have no prior experience and specialized camps for those who already play. Rockband camp, guitar camp, piano camp, and voice camp are taught by bilingual staff.
Before and after care is included.
Rock Star Camp has been making dreams come true for kids since 2003. Aspiring rock stars will go through the awesome creative process of becoming a great band with their own original music, image and style–and have the time of their lives doing it! All levels of experience welcome.
Enjoy a fun filled week of dance, choreography, and daily outings to Windsor Park, Brewer Park, Museum of Civilization, Mooney’s Bay, followed by the end of the week performance for family and friends!
Camp is open to kids ages 5-10. Children are divided into groups by age, with each camp limited to 12 participants.
