Every year, in the month of November, men from all over the world grow moustaches to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer. We at Zuluaga Media are thrilled to take part in this annual charity event. Roman Zuluaga, our Co-Founder, has agreed not to shave for the entire month of November in support of men’s health.
“This is my first Movember and I’m truly excited to take part in this annual event,” says Zuluaga.
Zuluaga Media plans to raise money through the Movember Foundation. The foundation was founded in 2004 and its vision is to “have an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health.” The foundation hopes to lower the amount of men dying prematurely by the year, 2030. It is the only global charity currently raising funds and awareness for this issue.
“We know what works for men, and how to find and fund the most innovative research to have both a global and local impact. We’re independent of government funding, so we can challenge the status quo and
invest quicker in what works. In 13 years we’ve funded more than 1,200 men’s health projects around the world,” the foundation claims.
Movember first became popular in Australia in 2003, when two friends joked about making moustaches popular again. These friends (Travis Garone and Luke Slattery) then decided to start a campaign for men’s health and ended up getting 30 men to grow moustaches in support of it. The rest is history.
“Men are facing a health crisis that isn’t being talked about. They’re dying too young – much before their time. This year, I’m taking action by raising funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Donate today and we can be the difference. We can stop men dying too young,” Zuluaga says.
